‘HD’ Is The Most Common Word Used In iOS App Titles, Check Out The Full List Now


what makes an iOS user buy an app from the App Store? Well, it’s mostly the title, price and reviews. The title of an app plays a very important role in its sales, marketing, downloads etc. and thus, the developers have to name their app wisely. There are over 650,000 apps currently available in the iOS App Store and it’s really difficult to get your app noticed unless Apple gives you a little push. Developers usually include certain terms after the title, such as Free, Lite or HD, to get their app noticed.
Appsfire decided to find out which of those terms are most commonly used by iOS app developers. This would also show what is the most searched term in the App Store. So here’s the top 25 most commonly used terms in the App Store along with how many times they’ve been used.

It is interesting to see that the term ‘HD’ is used more than ‘Free’. Also, according to the report, app developers use ‘Free’ in their app title even if the app is a paid app. Only 23 percent of App Store apps are universal, the rest are all device specific, either iPhone or iPad, and that’s also a term that lot of developers use.
