Leaked iPhone 5 Nano-SIM Tray And Buttons Compared With iPhone 4S Parts [VIDEO]

We’ve already seen images of the leaked iPhone 5 Nano-SIM tray, but it’s always better seeing them on video. Well, here’s a new video that compares the leaked iPhone 5 Nano-SIM tray and other external buttons with the iPhone 4S parts. The buttons include Home button, Volume buttons, Power button and the Loud/Silent switcher.
In the video, which comes from a repair firm called SmartPhone Medic, the leaked iPhone 5 parts are briefly compared with those from the current gen iPhone 4/4S. From the video, it can be clearly seen that the Power button is slimmer than the current gen iPhone button, the Volume buttons are similar, the Home button is slightly smaller in diameter than the current Home button and the Loud/Silent switcher is also slimmer. The most important, however, is the Nano-SIM tray. It is smaller in size and cannot hold the current Micro-SIM cards, which could only mean that Apple may finally move to Nano-SIM cards. Check out the video below:
We will only know if all of these parts actually belong to the iPhone 5, when Apple unveils it on September 12th. If, Apple unveils it! Do you think these parts belong to the iPhone 5? Are you happy with a Nano-SIM?

The Popular WhatsApp Messenger App Has Been Released For Windows Phone

You might have noticed that WhatsApp had leaked screenshots for a Windows Phone version of their multiplatform messaging app in a hidden section of their website. When we checked last week, the link to the app in the Windows Market Place was down. WhatsApp Messenger has once again returned to Windows Phone 7.5 (and up). Additionally, the icon for Windows Phone is back on the main page of WhatsApp‘s website, where it had previously been vacant.
WhatsApp Released For Windows Phone
WhatsApp is an messenging app that is intended to compete with SMS texts. The app is currently available on six platforms, including iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Nokia S40, Symbian, and Windows Phone. WhatsApp has a number of advantages over traditional text messages, including the ability to send videos, share locations, and engage in goup chats. In addition, WhatsApp costs significantly less than a typical SMS; the first year is free on Windows Phone, afterwards WhatsApp is only $0.99 per year.
The advantage SMS messages have over WhatsApp is that they will work with virtually any cell phone, while WhatsApp only supports smart phones and tablets with their app installed. If your friend is using a “dumb phone” or an unsupported Smart Phone such as the Palm Pre, they will not even have a chance install WhatsApp, and any particular social app can only be as good as the number of people using it.
There are a couple good alternatives to WhatsApp to keep in mind: EveryMe is a meta-social network which can even send SMS messages to contacts without the app; Facebook Messenger is also a decent SMS replacement, as if you know somebody’s name, there’s a good chance you will be able to message them.

A designer named Maurizio Vitale has created some iPad mini renders based on the rumored size and that it would look look like an iPod Touch. 9to5mac has posted these iPad mini 3D renders. Hit the jump to learn more about the leaked info on iPad mini and the 3D renders…

iPad Mini would look like a larger iPod Touch with skinnier bezels than a fill-sized iPad, reports, 9to5mac. The height, width, screen-size, and more dimensions of these 3D renders were taken from the leaked iPad mini schematics from July, which basically matches the information reported by 9to5mac that it’ll look like an iPod Touch.
These iPhone mini 3D renders are also compared with 9.7″ iPad display which is also based on the dimensions garnered from the schematics.
